Bernie Sanders raised more money in one day than Martin O’Malley did
his whole campaign.

Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders raised $5.2 million in
the 18 hours since the polls closed Tuesday night in New Hampshire, his
campaign said, in the wake of a primary in which he beat rival Hillary
Clinton by about 20 percentage points.

That stunning figure is a quarter of what Sanders raised in the entire
month of January, when he outpaced Clinton’s fundraising for the first
time. It’s also more than the amount that former Maryland Gov. Martin
O’Malley raised over the course of his entire campaign, before quitting
the race last week.

In his victory speech on Tuesday, Sanders said he was holding a
fundraiser ‘right here, right now, across America.’ He asked his
audience to donate ’10 bucks, 20 bucks, or 50 bucks’ to help him ‘take
the fight to Nevada, South Carolina and the states on Super Tuesday.’
